At two shopping centers

On November 25, 2025, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Walnut Creek Police Officers responded to a commercial alarm at the San Miguel Shopping Center on Newell Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple businesses had been burglarized.
While investigating the initial scene, officers were dispatched to a second alarm at the Countrywood Shopping Center at Bancroft Road and Treat Blvd. There, they located additional businesses that also showed signs of forced entry.
In total, nine businesses were identified as victims of burglary.
Walnut Creek Police Department detectives are actively investigating these incidents and following up on leads.

These are professional gangs that will not stop ;unless confronted with armed guards. Metal garage doors covering businesses has to be installed.
Criminals will just use power tools to get past gates and locks. Armed guards are too expensive for business owners to afford and are they supposed to shoot and kill someone for breaking into a business? How do they deciide if they should kill someone? Do they estimate the value of the items being stolen and if its over a certain amount then shooting them is justified? Be serious. The answer is more police, license plate readers and prison for repeat offenders. Long term we need better education, rehabilitation that includes job training and placement. You need to offer people an alternative to crime. Education, training and opportunities for employment. Please explain how armed guards could have prevented the 9 overnight burglaries mentioned in this article.
We need public flogging, executions, and cutting off people’s hands.
